Tardiness past 15 minutes from the start of session time will result in the student being marked as a “No-Show” and will result in 75% of the hourly fee being charged.
Rescheduling requests within 48 hours of remote session start time will result in 75% of the hourly fee being charged. Cancellations for sessions must be made 48 hours in advance.
No-shows or late notice of a cancellation will result in 75% of the hourly fee being charged. Exceptions will be made for sessions missed due to sudden illnesses or family emergencies. Illnesses should be communicated no later than the morning of the scheduled session. Please note, if cancellations become frequent, reserved, weekly tutoring time may be forfeited.
In order to protect our staff and others, students should not come to sessions when they are sick or when they have had significant symptoms within the past 24 hours (fever, excessive coughing, sneezing, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) and should either cancel, reschedule, or move to an online session. If a student arrives visibly sick or reports being sick, they will be sent home. If they are unable to leave, they will be given a mask and asked to wait in a separate space.This will result in 75% of the hourly fee being charged.
Frequent cancellations or rescheduled sessions might not be accommodated. If a student expects to cancel/reschedule more than one session per month, the scheduled time slot may, however, be reserved for a fee or it will be forfeited. Exceptions will be made for sessions canceled/rescheduled due to school holidays, snow days, and class trips.
Students will arrive prepared for learning with the necessary tools and materials (e.g. classwork, homework, etc.) In the absence of school-assigned work, students will provide topics from the class syllabus that can be previewed or reviewed.
Invoices must be paid within 30 days of receipt. If the bill remains unpaid, a 5% late fee will be added. Late fees will be accrued monthly until the bill has been paid in full.
Sessions are assumed to be sixty (60) minutes in length unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon in advance. Families are responsible for notifying tutors regarding schedule changes.
Families requesting extensive check-in communications (i.e. weekly emails) and/or preparatory work may be charged extra for this time. In addition, other obligations such as school meetings, phone calls, content-specific work, or consultation with other professionals may also result in the full-hourly fee.
Students will treat their tutors and themselves with respect and open-mindedness.
